Carol Powell is the administrative assistant and office manager and Para professional of the Powell Accountancy Group, PC.  She works closely with Phillip and Pam providing assistance and support whenever needed.  She will usually answer the phone and get you connected to where you need to go.

Carol helped Phillip when he opened his first office in 1976 serving as his office manager and bookkeeper for 6 years.  She left in 1982 to finish her degree from the University of Alabama in Design.  She and Phillip acquired a small business in the home building industry and Carol successfully ran and grew that business from 3 to 14 employees.  She was an active member of the Greater Birmingham Association of Home Builders and served on the Executive Board of Governors for several years.  She also served as President and all other offices of the GBAHB's Women's Council.  In 1992, she was awarded Woman of the Year by the Women's Council.  She was also included in Birmingham's Top 40 under 40 Business Leaders.  In 1999, they sold the business to a regional building supply company based in Atlanta.

In 2008, Carol helped Phillip to relocate his office and started working part time.  She enjoyed getting back to work and reuniting with all the clients and by 2009 had become full time. 

She and Phillip have 2 daughters, Shannon and Lori, and 2 grandsons, Andrew and John Phillip (JP).  She enjoys golf, dance and exercise.

She is a member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church where she is active in the Deeper Life Sunday School Class and Women of the Covenant Bible Studies.
